Star of the Sea Centre for Spiritual Living and Practice is seeking community support so that it can continue to offer a range of programmes related to spirituality and faith. Since 2016 Star has presented programmes including meditation, chanting, kirtan, sacred poetry, spiritual conversations, and presentations and workshops on themes including end of life, interfaith dialogue, and the arts. Most Star events take place at St. Mary’s church in Fulford (generously offered without charge by the Anglican Parish of Salt Spring Island), and some take place on Zoom. Star programmes are organized by a small, dedicated planning team, and that team is now asking for support to ensure that programming can continue and flourish.
We invite community members, and especially those who have attended Star events, to consider the possibility of helping by becoming a Friend of Star of the Sea. Options for helping include (but are not limited to):
We would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who might be willing to help out in some way. If you are interested, please send an email to staroftheseassi@gmail.com and a member of our team will respond to you. We will also provide direction needed for any of the tasks, and will contact you to ensure that any jobs can be performed at a time convenient for you.
We are committed to Star of the Sea continuing its offerings to the community, but we need your help to make this happen. We will be very grateful for any contributions. Thank you.
For a look at upcoming offerings please see our programme page.
With wishes for well-being, The Star of the Sea Planning Team
