The objective of Death Café is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives. Death Café invites people to think about death and share their feelings and experience about death and dying.

All are welcome. JayaLynda Cole and Rhema Cossever facilitate a warm, inclusive, and safe space where confidentiality is respected. There will be no agenda or formally led discussion. Participants are invited to express their own experiences about life, death, and/or the afterlife. Gentle guidance may be provided if needed.

Join us for a lively, informal, open-ended sharing about the end of life and what we make of it. Please bring an open mind and a soft heart. This is a place to feel comfortable with the uncomfortable.

The café is offered free of charge with donations toward the upkeep of St Mary’s Church welcomed.

To donate to Star of the Sea, either bring your donations to the event, or go to home page, scroll down and click on the “donate” button. This is Canada Helps site for the Anglican Parish of Salt Spring Island so please select “Star of the Sea program” from the Fund dropdown menu. Thank you.
